2020-2021 Travel Tryouts-Boys 3/4

LBC Travel and Rec Updates: LBC is going to have a travel season this year however it will be run by a 3rd party, the NE Storm, which is an AAU program. This is offered to Londonderry residents in 3rd-8th grade. Because of this there are some distinct differences than prior years. Those differences are laid out below. Please register as soon as you can as it is now more important than ever to see what our numbers will be and to determine tryout times (registration links coming soon). Tryouts are set to occur on 11/4 and 11/6. Tryouts will be held at the New England Sports Center (formally SportsZone) in Derry. We have secured the gym on these dates from 5:30-8 so your child's tryout slot will be somewhere within that time frame. Tryouts for each age group will vary on whether your child needs to be there for 1 or both days. We will update the specific tryout times as we get closer to 11/4. Some Updates: *Unfortunately there will be no Rec Basketball this year due to not having access to the school gyms. *Travel fees will be $375 a player (as long as there are at least 10 on a team). Once the teams are confirmed, this fee must be paid in 10 days otherwise there will be a late fee of $25. Because we are being run by a 3rd party it is crucial that balances are paid on time. There will be an additional uniform fee for all new players or for returning players who need a new one. We know this is more than previous years but there are now more fees in place due to renting gym space and being run by a 3rd party. LBC is also supplementing some of the gym costs otherwise this price would be much higher. If there are financial hardships or if you need to set up a payment plan you can always email vpoftravel@lbchoops.org or treasurer@lbchoops.org. *Each team will have 8-10 league games and 7 tournaments. We will play towns from NH, MA, and ME. All games and practices will be held at the New England Sports Center (NESC) or at the Plaistow YMCA. *Teams will be slotted a practice skills session during the week. Teams will stay together but there will be other teams in it as well. These skills sessions will be run by high quality AAU coaches through the NE Storm. THIS IS STILL A TOWN TRAVEL LEAGUE but similar to how AAU is run with a fraction of the cost. Games will still be coached by our Londonderry volunteer coaches. *Players will have the chance to get sized for uniforms at the tryouts. This will be your only chance to get sized as uniforms need to be ordered ASAP. If you make one of the teams, uniforms will need to be ordered ASAP, through our vendor, as there is a 2 week turnaround and the first pre season tourney is the weekend of 11/21. Required uniform items are a practice jersey, reversible game shirt, and reversible game shorts. AAU programs have managed very well throughout the summer and fall and we are so happy that LBC will be having a season as we know how much the kids and parents look forward to playing and watching basketball each year. Please be mindful that there will be certain restrictions and protocols in place for playing at the NESC and Plaistow YMCA. More info to come.
