Recreational Program

Playoff brackets have been posted for 3rd-4th Grade Boys and Girls, 5th-6th Grade Girls, and 7th-9th Grade Boys.  Please click on appropriate division to get the brackets.

The LBC Recreation basketball program is for both boys (ages 6-18) and girls (ages 6-16). Last year over 900 Londonderry youths participated in the program. In the younger age group the goal is to instruct the children in the basics of basketball and enjoy weekly non-competitive games. It is usually run by an adult LBC coordinator and involves middle school players as instructors. The older age groups have both a girls and boys league. Fundamentals and team sportsmanship are the main emphasis. Weekly games are scheduled as well as practice time when available. LBC coordinators organize the leagues and teams. Parent volunteers sign up as head and assistant coaches division coordinators. There are no tryouts in the recreation program. There are two weekend sign up sessions in October. The program begins in early December and ends with playoffs by February vacation. We encourage parent participation in helping to coach, assisting in gym monitoring or scorekeeping when needed.  Our goal is to encourage each child to participate in the program and to learn the game regardless of ability.  The Recreation Program runs from about the second week in December through the weekend before February vacation. There are about 8 weeks of games, excluding Christmas Vacation, and all teams make the single elimination playoffs. The program's divisional structure is as follows:

1^st Grade Boys & Girls - Instructional

3^rd-4^th Grade Boys - Competitive Games with playoffs

3^rd-4^th Grade Girls - Competitive Games with playoffs

5^th-6^th Grade Boys - Competitive Games with playoffs

5^th-6^th Grade Girls - Competitive Games with playoffs

7^th-9^th Grade Boys - Competitive Games with playoffs

7^th -10^th Grade Girls - Competitive Games with playoffs

10^th-12^th Grade Boys - Competitive Games with playoffs
